"1880" wool Fonty - Tie and dye green

1880 is a carded yarn twisted into 2 strands. Needle gauge 4.5 or 5. It is a fair trade, local, traced and ethical yarn, made exclusively from wool from the Ile-de-France breed of ewes raised around the Fonty mill, with whom a fair trade system has been set up.

After shearing and collecting the fleeces, the wool is washed in the Haute-Loire and then pre-combed in the North (in the last two washing and combing factories still in operation in France). It is then carded, spun and twisted in Creuse at Fonty.
